#EXPOQUEIJOBRASIL2025

The world's largest event for the promotion of Artisan Cheese!

EXPOQUEIJO BRASIL | Araxá International Cheese Awards is a showcase for the world of artisan cheesemaking. Here, stories of people, families, and traditions passed down through generations are shared. Each slice of cheese tells a tale of history, resilience, and development. Workers from cheese-producing regions of Brazil and the world gather here. It’s a movement to strengthen the Brazilian cheese brand and boost family farming to generate wealth, employment, and income across the entire country.

#INTERNACIONAL

International Cheese Contest

It is the celebration of the work done on farms and the main reason for the existence of ExpoQueijo! The contest represents the crowning of the history and dedication of each person who lives and helps keep the artisan cheese tradition alive. The International Contest brings visibility to products and producers and encourages improvements in the production process.

Over the years, more than three thousand artisan cheeses from around the world have been registered and evaluated at ExpoQueijo Brasil. Hundreds have been awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals and have gained recognition in national and international markets.

In four years, more than fifteen countries and all Brazilian states have been represented in the International Contest, reflecting the growing production of valued artisan cheeses. In 2025, EXPOQUEIJO BRASIL continues this mission, aiming to reach twenty countries represented in the contest.

#INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY

Artisanal Minas Cheese

Last year, the traditional method of making Artisanal Minas Cheese was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. As the largest Artisan Cheese event in the Americas, we hit the road with the “Kombi Queijo” to rally support across the state. It worked—and this edition of ExpoQueijo will certainly be a time to celebrate. A map featuring the 10 main cheese-producing regions will be created by producers representing each area, highlighting the unity and diversity of Minas Gerais’ cheese production. Let’s celebrate this recognition alongside those who, every day, preserve the centuries-old tradition of crafting this delicacy—more than just a symbol, it’s a true emblem of Minas Gerais.
