The crowning of the history and dedication of each person who lives and helps to keep the artisanal cheesemaking tradition alive. The International Contest is also a moment to give visibility to products and producers, as well as to encourage the pursuit of improvements in each one’s daily process, refining the cheeses and adding value to the final product.
Over the four editions of the International Contest, more than 3,000 cheeses have been registered and competed in Araxá, evaluated equally through a genuinely Brazilian process. In 2025, EXPOQUEIJO BRASIL | Araxá International Cheese Awards continues to follow this same evaluation and judging model, which was developed in partnership with the renowned Cândido Tostes Dairy Institute (ILCT), part of Epamig, an agency linked to the Government of Minas Gerais.
