Arax\u00e1 International Cheese Awards 2026 will bring together producers from various countries and will have limited slots<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Registrations are open for the Arax\u00e1 International Cheese Awards 2026, considered the largest cheese competition in the Americas and one of the most relevant in the sector on the international scene. The competition is part of the 6th edition of ExpoQueijo Brasil and will be held from June 25 to 28, at the Grande Hotel Termas de Arax\u00e1 (MG), bringing together artisanal producers from Brazil and more than 20 countries.<\/p>\n

The event organizer, Maricell Hussein, highlights the global nature of the edition and the expectation of growth. \u201cThe projection is to advance even further compared to previous years. We maintained the limit of a thousand registrations and have already noticed this year an increased interest from international producers, which strengthens the exchange and makes the competition even more relevant,\u201d she states.<\/p>\n

Registrations must be made by May 30, exclusively through the event’s official website.<\/p>\n

Criteria<\/h3>\n

Producers can register their products in one of the 47 available categories, according to criteria defined in the regulations. Only cheeses that have sanitary approval from the country of origin can participate.<\/p>\n

The competition has technical curation by EPAMIG \u2013 Instituto de Latic\u00ednios C\u00e2ndido Tostes and uses its own judging system, with blind evaluations conducted by national and international experts. The cheeses are analyzed based on seven sensory attributes: overall appearance, color, texture, odor, aroma, consistency, and flavor.<\/p>\n

The competition is divided into three elimination phases. In the end, gold, silver, and bronze trophies are awarded in each category, in addition to the highest award, the Super Gold, given to the cheese with the highest overall score among all entries.<\/p>\n

Other attractions<\/h3>\n

In addition to the International Competition, ExpoQueijo Brasil 2026 \u2013 Arax\u00e1 International Cheese Awards \u2013 features an International Business Fair with stands that value the consumption of family farming products. The International Forum develops a schedule of lectures, conferences, and discussion panels on innovations, methods, and practices to improve quality and add commercial value to regularized artisanal cheese, among other rural gastronomy products. The gastronomic and cultural village promotes a sensory experience in the tasting of artisanal cheeses harmonized with other delicacies of regional cuisine. A union of flavors and culture, with live music, shows, and exhibitions.<\/p>\n

ExpoQueijo Brasil<\/h2>\n

The main event in the segment in the Americas, ExpoQueijo Brasil 2026 \u2013 Arax\u00e1 International Cheese Awards has recognition and participation from the main producing countries, attracting the attention of the international community, experts, and the press. The meeting features a large structure set up in the main courtyard and the luxurious halls of the Grande Hotel and Termas de Arax\u00e1, a cultural and historical heritage of Minas Gerais.<\/p>\n

This year, ExpoQueijo will be held from June 25 to 28 and is expected to have a positive impact in various areas, such as tourism, retail, agriculture, logistics, the food and supply industry, and international relations.<\/p>\n

The event is organized by Bonare Eventos. It has partnerships with cheese producer associations, support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, through the Federal Agriculture Superintendence MG; Government of Minas, through the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply and its affiliates Emater-MG, Epamig-ILCT and IMA, Secretariat of Culture and Tourism of MG and the City Hall of Arax\u00e1.<\/p>\n
